Meet the Team

Alex Chisholm (Small) (1)

Alex Chisholm Co-founder

Prior to Skylab Learning, Alex was a Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Learning Games Network, Inc., a non-profit organization that bridges the gap between research and practice in game-based learning. There he oversaw development of Xenos, a virtual world and gaming environment for language learning that was created and evaluated with funding from the Hewlett and Gates Foundations. Between 2007 and 2010, he collaborated on development of The Forgotten World, an online story and game application to help Chinese middle school students learn English; he also managed the implementation of the application, including materials development and teacher training for an evaluation by the U.S. Department of Education. Over the past 15 years, Chisholm has collaborated on research, product, and program development with Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Sony Pictures Imageworks, LeapFrog, NBC News, NBC Olympics, Boston Children’s Hospital, BrainPOP, and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He previously served as the Director of Communications and Special Projects at MIT Comparative Media Studies and was a Co-Founder of the MIT Education Arcade. Chisholm earned his B.S. from Cornell University.


Christine Chiang Co-founder

Christine is a highly skilled and innovative tech executive with extensive experience in the CMS, LMS, workflow automation, mobile design, language learning, and workforce training industries. She builds and grows product development organizations that deliver both world class consumer product experiences and enterprise application solutions. She served in senior management positions at Idiom Technologies and OutStart and worked with customers including eBay, Oracle, Adobe, Autodesk, TiVO and McDonald’s. Recently, Christine led product development efforts at Learning Games Network for Xenos, which was successfully deployed and researched in libraries in Boston and San Francisco and BJ's Wholesale Clubs in Florida, New York, and Massachusetts. Christine received her MBA from Babson College and coaches a high school robotics team during her free time.

Lyle McCutcheon-Schour Co-founder

Lyle graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Political Science with minor in Economics. While at UNCW, Lyle authored a paper on Domestic and International Terrorism and presented this work at the Western Political Science Association National Conference in Portland, Oregon. Along with his academic work, Lyle was on the UNCW Surf Team, which was among the top five competitive programs in the U.S. Lyle grew up on Cape Cod in Orleans, MA. There, he worked as a foreman for his family’s landscaping business and later on ran and managed Cape Cod Surf Camps. Through these work experiences he developed strong managerial, financial, and communication skills. Lyle also is a competitive surfer up and down the east coast. He currently enjoys sponsorship from Oakley, Kechele Surfboards, and Boarding House Surf Shop and has surfed in many places around the world, including Indonesia, Australia, Hawaii, New Zealand, and throughout Central America.


Jacob Wellinghoff Lead Developer

Jacob is a Computer Science major at Rochester Institute of Technology. He has been doing web development since he was 13. His software has been featured in MacWorld and has had tens of thousands of downloads. His interests include: AR/VR, gaming, philosophy and Cryptocurrencies He is prone to dismantling, modifying and on occasion successfully reassembling gadgets. Mobile applications are his specialty, but his expertise is spread across all facets of technology, from networking to UX . Jacob hails from the vibrant city of Las Vegas, Nevada. On his weekends you will most likely find him, tinkering with some project or working his way towards becoming Challenger in League of Legends.
